Polarizing Eyeglasses

I have a pair of polarizing eyeglasses I got in the late 60s that are
made of a sandwich of two pieces of glass and a polarizing material in
the center layer. I haven't been able to find such glasses anywhere. The
scenes were clear and sharp. They were esp. good when I was flying my
airplane. Since my eyes have changed since then, I would like to find a
replacement; perhaps I could get some pointers from this newsgroup.
Oh, BTW, I have been told recently that they were not good sellers as
the layers would separate. I had them in Montana where the winters were
in the -35F range and the summers went up to 100F. I never had any
problems with them.
