  ... In fact one poor horse well over a month ago when it was still very very mild at night was being rugged up in a thick deep stable rug which covered him right up to his ears. ... As for mine, Flynn is a ID through and through and last winter he was only rugged around late November in the thin mac type to keep the cold wet off and only when we had the very cold snap over Xmas did he has his slightly heavier rug on, Soon though that came off and he went back to thin one. ... But then to many I am considered mean and yes he gets muddy but I just clear away what is under saddle area an bridle bits and continue riding. ... Most in my yard would never consider riding unless perfectly turned out. ...
