The efficiency of non-linear optica effects depend strongly on the
power, wavelength/frequency, coherence, and other factors. This is
certainly possible but I'd still not consider it in the "easy" class.
And further more, the "light" that comes out doubled is not the
same "light" that went in. The original light is absorbed and
new photons are emitted.
