Re: Custom Polarizing Beam Splitter Cube Vendor Wanted

Perhaps they are concerned about the UV degrading the cement. Xenon lamp
radiation, for example, will yellow most cements.

You can try two part silicones from Nusil (LS-3440 or LS-3443):

These have good transmission down to about 280nm and do not yellow with
wavelengths above that. I can not tell you about durability with shorter
wavelengths.

If your UV wavelength is shorter, you might see if someone can optically
contact the prisms. OFR has experience with both IR beamsplitting cubes and
optical contacting.

You could also try an alpha-BBO Glan-laser polarizer from Casix:

I am trying to find a vendor that supplies a polarizing BS cube that
operates at ~1000nm and is constructed using fused silica prism. I have
tried several "big" optics vendors houses and have received two "no
bids" and two non-responses.

Essentially I need a Nd:YAG polarizer that can tolerate significant UV
radiation. Any leads will be greatly appreciated.
