Hello ,
I have a question.The question is:
why a ray of light when passes through a medium of higher refractive
index to a medium of
lower refractive index or reverse, changes its direction? why Snell's
law is obeyed by light?
Lets cut through all the fog and use a simple analogy. The light
changes direction because of a change of impedence from one boundary to
another. This is analogous to a golfer putting from level ground
towards the hole with a slanted hill in between. The golf ball changes
direction as it starts to climb the hill.
