Jim, I just downloaded the new program a few days ago.
I'll start with the basic basics:

How do you open a file?
Normal method for windoz programs is File>Open/
How do you save a file?
Normal method for windoz programs is File>Save.
How do you start a new design?
Normal method for windoz programs is File>New.

As I said, basic.
Also, I don't know what you did to the formatting of the various windows but
they don't confine themselves properly to the screen size. At my resolution
(640x480) the windows just walk all over everything and don't have any
access to moving/sizing controls of any kind. In addition to being that
rude, they also cover the taskbar which causes the need to change tasks
(which, fortunately does bring up the task bar) in order to get out of that
window. I'm divided on the idea of adding subwindows to the taskbar or
doing it all within the main window ala the Oslo method which seems to be
most used (Visual Basic uses the taskbar method of window control, for
example). Either method works so I really don't care there. I'll also note
that there is a lot of whitespace in the subwindows that I have opened and
that does nothing but make for larger windows more than anything else.

You need SVGA (800x600) or higher. It was just to terrible to make
everything work in VGA.

KDP-2 works either with commands or the gui for setting things up. Go
to the lens menu to create a new lens. Each fild in the psuedo-spread
*** causes dialogs to open for input or editting.

The GUI does not do everything that the program can do but it does a
lot of the basics.

There are two tutorials based on command input which cover the basics
of input, analysis, optimization, graphics and tolerancing.

I'll look at the low resolution and try to figure some kind of fix
out.
