Also, have you ever tried FRED? You might be amazed about how easy it
might have been.
Tried a demo a few years ago, it's source model capability wasn't
adequate for producing the accuracy we needed and we hit object limits
with a lot of our systems. Maybe I'm weird, but I don't mind using
script language, so I didn't see a major benefit to the usability in
our case. As you said, in other cases clearly the usability can be a
major plus.
I can't comment about those specific limitations. I can say that 2 years
ago, Photon Engineering basically admitted FRED was a work in progress. Now
it is generally a much more finished program.
