Hi guys,
Hi Folks,
Well, I've been off the air for a week. Turns out that even though the
pain was off the scale, it was simply a bulged disk pressing on a
siatic nerve. Treatments are underway so I guess I did not get hit by
the proverbial bus. My wife is kind of happy about that.
I had the same thing happen in May. Yes, it does hurt real amazingly
bad. Them nerves hate getting squeezed. The good news is that it gets
better. The bad news is that it takes long; I'm functional now but still
haven't fully recovered.
Surgery seems to work for the impatient; a colleague of mine had it done
for his sciatica and was back skiing in a couple of months. I went with
an epidural cortisone shot and physical therapy, which seems to work for
those like me who are averse to having their spines cut and are willing
to wait it out while their disc crawls back into its hole.
