Re: KDP2 User Support and purchase.

Jim, I sincerly hope the back operation is as successful as it can be.
You have a lot of potential, and over the years you have been an
excellent
contributor to the discussions on optics and other topics. Once someone
explains, or there is some discussion or user thread on KDP, I will
take
the challenge to learn this new piece of software. How do you
number the versions/revs of KDP. What does KDP2, 6.0 mean ?

I change version numbers now on Jan 1 of each year with decimal
changes during that year when I have sufficient fixes to warrent an
upgrade. KDP2, being a full re-write of old KDP started with version
1.0 in June of 2005 but was not released until it was debugged and
version 2.0 was released. The versions did not at first change every
year

Version 4.0 will be the free unsupported version for several years.

Perhaps,
a new FAQ with some recently clarified information on the program
operation
and architecture collected in one place. For your hard work, you could
make
such a FAQ part of your support package.

How do I do that ? I'd like to start an FAQ but I am cluless as to
what to do, seriously. I write pretty good code but I am not a really
well informed person when it comes to playing around on the internet.

If you can stear me in the right direction, I'll try and set and FAQ
up.

Sincerely,

Jim

Hi,

I will be off line from Thursday Jan 18 to about Tuesday Jan 23 having
a back operation. Anyone needing to buy KDP2 user support and get
access to version 5.0 can still contact Sally at our phones listed on
the web site. If you tell her you are sending the check, she will give
you the 2007 password right then so you won't have a delay in getting
started. I figure anyone who says they will send a $49.95 check is not
likely to change their minds after they get the password. :-)

I should be able to support the program again next week.

Off topic, when they tell you to never lift with the back muscles and
only lift with the leg muscles, they always forget to mention that you
should use someone else's leg muscles instead of your own. Preferably
a strong 18 year old who thinks he will never get back problems. :-)

Thanks for all the nice emails and phone calls of concern I have
received. You don't know how much it helps to have other people care
what happens.

Sincerely,

Jim Klein
