Interesting things to measure on a Diode laser

Apart from the usual like input current against output power, etc are
there any interesting measurements you can make on a diode laser that
would reveal some interesting property of them? I am going to be
making measurements on a 780 nm diode laser and just wondered what
would be interesting things to quantify... I am going to measure mode
hopping, output power...and that its so far.

Thanks in advance
