I would suggest going straight to Geltech as they manufacture the
lenses and mounts sold by Thor.
Do they supply the cheap plastic lenses too? (In this context, cheap does
not mean bad, just really attractively priced.)
Not to my knowledge. Can one really get away using plastic? After
all, they are very prone to thermal problems. (Maybe for such small
lenses homogeneity, bifringence and mold shrinkage are not a problem.)
Does anyone make small aspheric fused silica lenses for diode lasers?
If spherical aberration is the issue here, then one must also be concerned
about whatever is inside the laser diode module also.
Here one needs to find a good suplier and test their product. (Not an
easy task.) In general I prefer not to re-invent. However, that
said, most diode suppliers do not seem to know much. Last time I was
looking, the market was price driven rather than quality driven.
Technical information was hard to come by.
