Such a lens would be more than needed, yes, but the point is that they are
widely available for next to nothing now because of the obsolescence of
film cameras.
Wouldn't the resolution be very poor, since they are meant to project
onto a 35mm surface, and now we are projecting 3MP on a much smaller
sensor area?
Also, isn't the minimum focusing distance going to become a problem
with SLR lenses?
