First, write out 100 times: "the singular of lenses is lens". Your
teacher might just be sufficiently old-fashioned to deduct marks for
spelling errors.
What are other people's (un)favourite optical mis-spellings? On
drawings, I have seen:
mirrow
lazer
Grumpy Old Ron
Well, on RFQs from some other countries I've seen "prano-convex".
I've also seen flourescent many times, as opposed to the correct
fluorescent. And lazer, yes; too often.
