"rotating the film 180 degrees +/- 1/2 an arc second is not difficult"
rotating anything +/-1/2 an arc second seems to me very difficult
w/o access to an extremely precise rotating stage.
No, I said half arc-second. I have access to a Moore diamond turning lathe
with C axis capability. It is better than an arc-second, but apparently
only a couple arc-seconds are required.
I was mistaken then, sorry about that.
Moore machines are generally not within the reach of a small shop or
lab, although with the ongoing dismantling / outsourcing of the US
manufacturing & industrial capabilities maybe one may turn up on e-bay
once in a while (I assume).
I just checked and Moore still appears to be in business, that's almost
surprising these days and very good news.
