We've all heard of surface plasmons, which are supposed to manifest
themselves on surfaces given the right stimuli. Here's an article on
how optical computer chips that might be possible using plasmons:

I found the fact that plasmons can propagate in a manner similar to
lightwaves to be intriguing. I wonder if plasmons might be capable of
quantum entanglement as well -- can anyone comment on this?
If it's possible to make an optical-style computer using plasmons,
would it be possible to make a quantum computer from plasmons?
(I'm grateful for any replies copied to my email, as I don't always
check this newsgroup often.) :)
