Re: Photon Mass

It is fair to say that no-one fully understands or can calculate with
accuracy the behaviour of quarks in a proton, and the resulting mass. And I
understand it far less than those who work in this area.

I like the description of the situation as a "sick" one. :-)

Quantum chromodynamics is definitely a long way off being as well
established as quantum electrodynamics, or as well verified or as useful for
calculations.

1 there is only one kind of mass!!

Yes. That is the current mainstream viewpoint.

relativistic mass' is an invention of mathematicians!!

Well, actually physicists, but basically yes. But as said in an earlier
message, what used to be called relativistic mass isn't any more.
However,
the calculations give the same (experimentally verified) results from
either
viewpoint.

that do not realize that a physic formula has its limits of validations

2 you mentioned the *quarks story* and asked rightly
what happens with all the 'missing mass'!!

No such question was asked.

The explanation for the difference between the masses of the quarks and
the
proton is that it is explained in a very similar way as the hyperfine
splitting of the ground state of hydrogen due to the spin-spin
interaction
between the constituent particles. However, hyperfine splitting is only a
very minor energy (i.e. mass) in the hydrogen atom, but in the case of
the
proton, this correction contributes most of the total mass.

dont you realize that you are
HAND WAVING????

since you seems to be a gentleman i will not say *cheating*!!

all your abstract words are worthless physically
please show some calculations for it followed by experimental
verifications
using impressive high words of inter spinning etc my impress suckers
not thinking people .that examine each detail.

just suppose that it was me with your explanation....
would you 'eat' that ??!!

there is a very basic simple question
you have 10 percent of mass 'proven' (i doubt even that ..)

and 90 percent of MUMBLING!!

are you satisfied with such a situation??

try some intellectual integrity !
PS
please just keep in mind that covering a sick situation
and posing it as solved
is (IMHO) a scientific crime
(because it prevents real advance of other theories and possibilities

it is 'morphine' to a very sick wounded person instead of real
treatment .)
