An astronomical day is 24 hours exactly,it once began and finished at
noon after the Equation of Time was applied hence the isolation of
axial rotation to the 24 hour/360 degree equivalency.

"Now if we use a system of co-ordinates which is rigidly attached to
the earth, then, relative to this system, every fixed star describes a
circle of immense radius in the course of an astronomical day,"
It turns out you are just another relativistic cheerleader,Albert
basically took the error Newton created in determining heliocentric
and geocentric coordinates are equivalent by way of Flamsteed and
reduced them to homocentricity by way of Mach.
I simply have nothing more to add given that the principles can only
be compared with creationist tendencies. If you think that the Earth
rotation through 360 degrees can be ascertained, as Flamsteed imagined
it would, through stellar circumpolar and the sidereal value of 23
hours 56 min 04 sec then I have no choice but to withdraw having
nothing in common with a creationist-type mindset,no offense intended.
