Sorry, Newton was right - it can easily be mathematically proved. And Yes, you can
answer this question without using "Kinetic Energy". Reality Physics has revealed
that gravity is: "The constantly accelerating implosive motion of inertial
reference with respect to still position in space". i.e., the inertial reference
background of the universe actually accelerates downward through space at the
surface of a body of mass meaning that even though an object is stationary on a
planet's surface, it still accelerates with respect to the inertial reference
background of the universe, and this is gravity. The "secret" is to understand
that the universe is NOT the "static" condition it is now misassumed to be, but
"ACTIVE", thus allowing an object at the surface of a large body of mass to
experience an acceleration, with respect to inertial reference of the universe
(even though it remains at a still position in space) and consequently a force,
even though the object remains "still" in space. i.e., the inertial reference
background can "MOVE", i.e., ACCELERATE DOWN" with respect to the object's still
position in space. However this can only happen in an "active" universe as
described by Reality Physics explaining why the cause of gravity is still a
complete mystery in Theoretical Physics today, even though the true cause of
gravity was revealed (with mathematical proof) more than 20 years ago by Reality
Physics.
