Physics is not about the definition of things you pull out of a hat - that
this is definitely not what physics is discussed in volume 1 of the Feynman
Lectures on Physics. In modern parlance energy is the conserved Noether
current related to time symmetry see
http://www.physics.ucla.edu/~cwp/Phase2/Noether,_Amalie_Emmy@861234567.html

'The key to the relation of symmetry laws to conservation laws is Emmy
Noether's celebrated Theorem. ... Before Noether's Theorem the principle of
conservation of energy was shrouded in mystery, leading to the obscure
physical systems of Mach and Ostwald. Noether's simple and profound
mathematical formulation did much to demystify physics'

Wrong.

Wrong.

When velocity goes up kinetic energy goes up and potential energy goes down
so that potential and kinetic energy remain constant. Why is this a
constant? - Noethers theorem.

You obviously have no idea what your talking about - as I said in general
terms energy in the conserved Noether current related to time symmetry. And
if that is beyond you then I suggest reading the Feynman Lectures on Physics
then Landau Mechanics.
