It's a thought question -- like Schroedinger's cat -- often overblown
into a "view" or a "principle".

As to acceleration being absolute, all such questions only make sense
within a particular model. Acceleration has a different quality than
velocity in GR, but still has relativity to the local structure of
spacetime -- we can say acceleration is absolute in this sense, in
this model, whereas it is still relative in this other sense, in the
same model. It's not as if "absolute" had some predefined meaning,
which we can discover.

Word questions always have the same two-step solution process: (1)
suggesting a model and a meaning of the question within that model (2)
answering the question so posed within that model.

Well, he is badly succumbing to "quotation" disease.
