He believed in the god of Spinoza 'While for Spinoza all is God and all is
Nature, the active/passive dualism enables us to restore, if we wish,
something more like the traditional terms.' see

Does that include Einstein and Spinoza? And before you answer think about
if such a discussion is really suitable for sci.physics.relativity.

I think the main problem is people who wish to beat up an issue when there
is none. I lean towards the god of Spinoza and believe in a platonic world
for which the reality we experience are mere shadows on the wall - the true
reality lies in our mathematics. But as an issue worthy of serious debate
it hardly ranks for me at all - it is just something I happen to believe -
that is all. Others hold a different view - big deal.
