Paul you have been informed how this type of phenomenon is comprehensively
explained by the ballistic theory.

The two stars are 180 out of phase and their brightness variations almost
cancel each other.

(Please write that statement down for future reference. ..just in case you snip
it 'accidentally').

I'm sure even you can add two sine waves that are 180 out.
