BINGO!

It's one thing to disagree with another person. Hell, it's even OK to believe that what
they post is nonsense. Even further, I believe it's OK to make comments to the effect
that what an author might have posted is rubbish if that's what someone truly believes.

But Hobba and few other morons in this NG love to absolutely vilify the authors of such
posts. If the content of them is so outrageous, why not just let it go? If the point of
making a post is to assure that the casual reader of this NG will not be mislead (even as
silly as it is to believe that any one person here has a franchise on the truth) then why
don't they just note their opinion for the record and let it go?

But these jerks know no such thing. It's a form of McCarthyism. The trouble with that is
that they get so caught up in their arrogance that not only are the most outrageous
posters vilified, and I do mean personally vilified, but anyone with whom they disagree or
for whom they have no intellectual respect is treated the same way.

For supposed academics who supposedly believe that good science benefits from the free and
uninhibited exchange of thought and ideas, these assholes have decided, with the height of
arrogance, that they should be the keepers of the truth, their truth, not matter the
tactics.

Of course, that's just the mask of the real reason. The real reason they spend so much
time here in the first place is to show off what they believe to be their superior
intellect. They have strong feelings of incompetence and try to overcome it through the
reassurance they get by patting each other on the back as they *teach* the less fortunate
among us. However, and this is the key part, when someone who they've decided is unworthy
actually proffers a thought or an idea against which they cannot provide an argument, then
those feeling of incompetence coming rushing back over them in torrents and they've got
nothing left but to react with vile and disgusting personal attacks. What's more, they'll
even follow some posters around the NG just to stick the knife in deeper and deeper.
Hell, it's not about whether or not the idea with which they have problems is valid or
not. It's about their inability to show that it is.

Hobba, van Moortel, jem, and a few others are nothing but assholes, pure and simple.
