I suspect it's the product of a far longer chain of mental and
(probable) sexual abuse. His physically abusive step-father had a far
greater effect of young George that he realizes. This unconscious
(suppressed) terror is what George sees as the "ungrown" mind. It's a
major contributor to his knee-jerk rebellion against anything remotely
"structured" (universities, academics, government, clergy, etc.) The
sexual abuse only compounds George's detachment disorder, and adds fuel
to his anger. He now projects the "unconscious" savage thoughts he lives
with into an "Ungrown" god figure. He repeatedly refers to himself as
"having the greatest growth deficit in history" (a child figure), and in
the 3rd person as jesus/god object (a parent/god figure). A classic case
of a manifest detachment disorder. He's repeated it in is adult life
(failed marriages, time in various institutions, anger disorders,
detachment from reality, etc.).

Carefully read George's response in light of this observation.
