I answered the following question in a newsgroup dedicated to arguing
about religion. The thing is, I'm not EXACTLY sure my point 2) is
correct. I read it somewhere when I was in high school and thought it
was a really insightful statement, but I'm always haunted by the
feeling that I could be wrong:
=============
> what was before the 'big bang'?
Take your choice:
1) Nothing.
2) Nothing but quantum energy fluctuations, which can NEVER be
eliminated because to do so would violate the uncertainty principle: to
say that the energy in a volume is exactly zero is to say that we know
the energy in a volume exactly.
But so what? Neither is a reason to believe that an invisible GUY
created everything with MAGIC.
Stupid son of a bitch!
