Re: Have you ever wondered.....

AllYou: You state that to be physical it must be capable of stimulating
the senses. This raises the issue of what is included within the sense
of _feel_. As you say, we can feel the ball rolling across our hand.
It is also just as accurate to say that we feel our heart beating fast,
or very fast. We can feel whether we are breathing slowly, or very
fast. If we are hitting our hand on a drum, we can feel whether we are
hitting it slowly or fast or very fast. A woman in labor can feel how
close the contractions are coming. All of my examples are of the body
directly sensing the passage of time, and the difference of time
intervals.
(note, we can also feel whether the ball is rolling along our arm slowly
or quickly)

Therefore we can feel with our senses the passage of time.

I can feel whether I am being hit in the jaw softly or heavily. We can
also invent a mechanism to quantify how hard the various impacts are in
accordance with some arbitrary scale. That is an intellectual exercise.
Similarly, we can invent a mechanism to quantify time in accordance with
some arbitrary scale, and that is an intellectual exercise.

Time is physical and stimulates the senses, and can be sensed directly.
