Distance, Duration & Action, oops camera


{:-) Behind the bike shed Bill and Tom both measure an interval using
induced emission and from this calculate the distance of their rods and
agreed they are the same. Bill goes to near the bottom of a gravity
potential well and Tom goes to near the top. Sue's in the middle cutting
and randomly connecting the multiway cable connecting Bill and Tom.
I'm down the pub at the end of the cosmos playing the part of Arthur Bent
doing some serious drinking and watching the shown on channel 42.

Bill locally measures an interval by induced emission and calls it one
duration. He calculates his rod and it measures one distance.

Tom locally measures an interval by induced emission and calls it one
duration. He calculates his rod and it measures one distance.

Both define the SOL as you c*** using there locally measured interval of
induced emission and the belief that the speed of radiation is constant in
the local mental vacuum state.

Bill signals up to Tom via a pulse of one duration that his emission
interval and rod distance are one. Tom receives the pulse and it measures
one plus something from his pov so he thinks Bill's duration and distance
are now longer that his.

Tom signals down to Bill via a pulse of one duration that his emission
interval and rod length are one. Bill receives the pulse and it measures one
minus something from his pov so he thinks (gloatingly?) that Tom's duration
and distance are shorter than his.

Sue shouts up and down 'stop pissing about you w****** and use this hollow
torque rod with a circumference of one distance'. So she passes and equal
length up to Tom and down to Bill and puts a clamp on the two ends in the
middle (with what we wont say).

The next bit makes Tom and Bill's eyes water but might be felt as an
erotic experience by Sue.

It needs to be mentioned at this stage that the torque rod although it had a
circumference of one distance from Sue's pov when she made it, in its
travels up and down it expanded as it when up to Tom and contracted when it
went down to Bill as you might expect due to the positive gravity potential
increase on the way down and the positive gravity potential decrease on the
way up.

BTW this potential is not as a direct result of surrounding material in
contact with the tube but as the effect of the gravity potential compressing
distance and expanding duration at the bottom of the well and expanding
distance and compressing duration at the top and not the pressure that might
be directly applied due to an increase in mass. It's the effect that would
remain if the torque tube had a protective tube enclosing it that was closed
at the pressure end and open at the vacuum end and was distanced from the
torque tube.(See GR for an approximation for this effect)

So the circumference from Sue's pov is one distance and from Bill and Tom's
pov its one distance but relatively Bill's one distance is shorter than
Sue's one distance and Tom's one distance is longer than Sue's one distance
so the hollow torque rod is a cone from channel 42's pov but is impossible
to measure by a dedicated myopic measuring physicist running a micrometer up
and down the cone as the micrometer will contract and expand as its moved up
and down the torque rod in exactly in the same way as the torque rod was
created.

BTW Sue by some witchery via channel 42, knows that her one distance and one
duration are half way between Tom and Bill's one duration and one distance
in cosmic reality as against myopic reality.

Woman always know these things without seeing them.

Sue yells down to Bill stick your tool in the end and give it one turn in
one duration, while she keeps a tight grip in the middle. Bill complies but
it makes his eyes water, Sue feels one turn which is one distance and Tom
sees one turn which is one distance all in one duration from their
respective pov.

So Sue, perhaps at the suggestion of AB. who is pissed as a newt by now
having been nearly bored mentally rigid by some *good* theoretical
physicist with a nobel knob and balls, shout to Tom. 'give it one turn in
one duration but the opposite way to Bill', she then takes a really tight
grip on the join in the middle. I leave this channel with Sue shouting, to
Tom and Bill this way that way etc etc.

Some days latter after all have gone the full distance and recovered,
including AB's hangover, AB chats to Sue over channel 42 but he's not sure
the message gets to Tom and Bill as for fun Sue is playing with the wiring
again.

Sue aggress that the action that Tom and Bill put in was equal per turn from
her pov ? and that Bill may be younger than Tom as his pulse interval from
an electrical pov is longer than Toms ? How do we reconcile the locally
observed apparent mechanical equality with the electrical inequality and
ageing ? Will Bill be younger, shorter or sexier than Tom when they meet at
the party at the end of the cosmos ? Will Sue knee them both in the knackers
? These and other interesting questions have still to be answered but may
have to wait till the party if fingers and balls are not pulled out.
