That would be a dielectric mirror if we go purely on the way

They affect it only a little and only in the nearfield, a
few wavelenghts from the mirror.

The reflection will be redder and each sucessive echo
will be longer. If that doesn't settle the issue,
then you might need to be give a few more details.
