It would stupid not to.
Velocities are distances divided by times, by DEFINITION.
If you are going to compose velocities you are composing distances.
A man delivers a bowling ball by stepping forward, adding his own
velocity to the ball.
A woman in the next lane steps up to the line, stops and then releases
the ball.
Are the lane lengths different because Einstein said
(v+w)/(1+vw/c^2) ?
The distances are (vt1+wt2)/(1+vt1.wt2/(ct1+ct2)^2)
What would the speed of light have to do with the sound of a strike anyway?
Who measures the velocity of a bowling ball by having it returned as well?
Is that common sense? NO.
So why do it for light?
Androcles.
