Demonstrably wrong for VLF waves used to communicate with submarines. They have wavelengths ~300 kilometers. They are within the bandwidth of LIGO -- if it could see them they would be completely overwhelmed (megawatts generated <1000 miles away). None of the talks or papers about LIGO that I have seen even mention them (but discuss at length microseismic events, trucks, people, and even airplanes going by).
