Well that's the SR answer. The aether answer says the guy dies. The
front brakeman would receive the signal much later than the back
brakeman. The front guy would also see the light severly blue shifted.
The back guy would see the light red shifted.
Sorry but you are completely wrong.
Shift is how frequency and wavelength varies, it has nothing to do with
the speed of light. Yes its true the back guy would see the light a
different colour than the front guy, but they would both see whatever
colour light at the same time.
This can't be true. If it was, you would be able to tell if you were moving
in an enclosed non-accelerating box. All you would need to do is put a
light source in the center and see if the color changes if you stand against
different walls.
