Hi ! I'm very new to this group and this is my first message. I'm still
in school and me and my friend are mad about Physics. We have acquired
college level knowledge of relativity. Our mind wonders in world of
Physics. While just having some regular discussion, a thought came to
us. GR says that mass and Energy wraps the spacetime. But what if we
say that mass does not wraps spacetime, infact it is wrapped spacetime
! Energy accumulated on certain portion of space and time that deformed
it and we see it as matter. So the objects we see are actually deformed
space and time. The deformation of spacetime, that is existence of any
substance, is exactly equal to the effect that the object would produce
on the universe. To cut the long story short everything is merely
depressions on space and time and nothing else.
This thought may seem creative to some and absurd to many. Still we
want your comments and please correct us with orignal facts.
Naive realism (a technical term) generates more problems than it
solves.
Nevetheless, so what? Wheeer at Princeton worked for years on a similar
idea called Geometrodynamics in which all there is is spacetime. The
question is: what kind of new predictions this idea allows which are
not available by other theories and at the same time conform to
experimental testing?
The answer is none. Since you want to study physics try to understand
the difference between it and metaphysics. Your idea is metaphysical,
it alludes to questions like: Does God exist? The assertion you make
cannot be proven, it is a non-falsifiable hypothesis. What remains then
is whether this hypothesis combined with other hypotheses can generate
quantitative predictions confirmed by experiment. Answer: none. So it
seems to me you and your friend are also mad about metaphysics.

xxein: So what you are saying is that we invent answers that suit
ourselves as differentiated from how an existent universe really works.
Not bad for a rookie.
