The only semi rational objection to this whole thing seems to be that we
don't like to change the names of things or the meanings of names.

Statements like that make you sound like a crackpot. The term
'coordinate time' has been in use for many decades; this in itself
is a rational reason for not changing it. If you want it changed
it is up to you to make a compelling case for doing so.

Also, you mention in anothe post that one has proved you wrong.
Of course, no one can ever do that as we are talking about a
matter of choice not logic.

And
that objection was voiced by a poster who acknowledged that words like
mass, force, energy and momentum have all had their meanings changed.

You are taking that remark out of context. My point was
that everyday words like 'energy' and 'power' have been
given more precise definitions by physicists. I do not
advocate the changing of the meaning of words without
good reason.
