Amazingly, you got it right, without even realizing it: sum up the "centrifugal force" and the "Coriolis force" that the rotating observer ascribes to the hot dog stand, and the result is _precisely_ the center-seeking "force" -m*v^2/r needed in the rotating frame to make it move in a circle. You even got it right that this "force" is "imaginary" (though the usual word is "fictitious").
