Not sure if I agree there. . .
The body is a good sensor for mass, and so therefore it is observable.
Mass can also be determined by density, and volume. Which can all be
determined by distances. It doesn't require a measuring device to
observe the effects of mass, but yes that measuring device is always
effected by its distance relative to the ground, or 'other bodies'.

Anyone stupid enough to believe in negative quantities such as mass
should be removed from science in the first place.
