What "physical process" makes it be _straight_?
(I am trying to get you to see just one of the many ASSUMPTIONS
you make without acknowledging them.)
I have already answered that question. As per Newton's laws of motion. If you like it is an axiom of physics that 'straight' is natural and a physical process is required to change it from that natural state.
