In hindsight, if you look at Maxwell's equations, you can see that the
aether idea was a stupid one even without Relativity. Clearly from
those equations, the E-field is carried by the B-field and vice versa.
Hence no need for the aether: the light is its own medium. It's a
wonder why anyone this day and age would be naive enough to still
adhere to something so stupid.

What I find "stupid" is someone who can look at Maxwell's clear logic,
reject it, replace it with a theory that says, energy is transmitted
by no means at all but it's still true, and then call anyone seeing
the logic of Maxwell "stupid"!

Maxwell, pointed out that energy can only be transmitted from one
place to another by either particles (kinetic) or waves. There are no
other alternatives! So in the case the transmission is by waves, then
we are forced to ask just WHAT is "waving"? So, Bunkie, just exactly
WHAT is "waving" when electromagnetic waves are transmitted? What
exactly IS a "B" or "E" field? Just what is your model that shows how
absolutely NOTHING does ALL of these things. You really don't have
one, do you. All you have is a bunch of equations that you can't
explain. Maxwell wasn't buying that and I'm not either. But you think
that anyone who does NOT buy your theory of "nothing vapor" is naive?
Whoa!

I'm afraid that, apart of a few lights such as Maxwell and Einstein, the
world is full of idiots who think to be smarter and others who don't even
understand what they were talking about. ;-)
