How smart are SR experts?
Here we are, supposedly intelligent people, yet SR
experts do not even accept things that I know are
true. Why is that? Yes, their answers never show
that I am wrong, it is just a constant word game,
that I am wrong. Not even the real experts dare say
anything to support me. They keep quite most of the
time. When they think of some small way that allows
them to say I am wrong (maybe I misspelled a word
here or there), they will move and say I am wrong,
without saying why I am wrong, and then move on.
Indeed - you misspelled "quiet" ;-)
But let us look at the facts: We sit here on the
earth, and we, with the very best SR equipment that
we have, we look out over the things around us, and
we know, we measure, that the speed of light going
past everything we see that is moving, trains,
busses, the planets and the stars around us, we see
and we measure that the speed of light going past
everyone of these objects are seen and measured to be
something other than c. We do this! We measure
this! These are correct facts, correct SR facts.
Probably you mean: the speed relative to moving objects (in modern
jargon also called "closing speed"). The speed of light relative to
moving objects as measured in the "rest" frame is known to be (c-v).
No expert will deny it, but strangely enough many hesitate to confirm
it.
And yet an SR expert will say, even thought we
know that there is not any moving object around us
that has light going by at c, that the light going
past us is going at exactly c. And it is going at
exactly c even though we ourselves are constantly
changing our velocity, even to velocities that had
just been existing in some of the objects around us
where we know it was not c. And all these
measurements are done with the exact same SR
equipment.
Now if you cannot see the stupidity of such
thinking then not only are you dumb, but you have
make yourselves crazy. All this is not physically
possible. No intelligent person would conclude such
facts as you are saying to be really true.
Let me repeat this point: If any thinking person
personally observed that light did not go past any
other moving object around him with the exact
velocity of c, then why would light be going past him
with the exact velocity of c? Certainly we might
measure c, but how could it really be true?
Such a strange and special velocity measurement
just for us, and for no one else, is really
impossible, especially when our own velocity is
constantly changing. Something is physically wrong
with our measurements, in order for such a thing to
be measured. It really cannot be physically true,
and this cannot be escaped!
Now I also know that LET gives us an answer to
this problem. And I know that this answer is self
consistent, logical, doable, meets all scientific
requirements. And yet, what do I find? I find that
all SR experts are not willing to say this.
Who do you claim to be "SR experts"? Only SR university teachers? For
example, many here see in Tom Roberts an SR expert and he explained
why Lorentz's stationary ether model "works", both in the past and
recently. He also expressed why it is not according to his taste, and
that is his good right. You should give him credit for that.
Why?
Now even though I will never understand why anyone
would not accept LET as the theory to accept, my
problem is not over the question of whether we should
accept this theory or not, my problem is that no SR
expert will even admit to the truth that LET works!
See above; it is not really a problem. No SR expert is so stupid as to
*deny* it, and that is good enough. ;-)
This I can only see as something evil must have
happened, if properly educated people cannot even
know or understand that LET physically works. What
has happened to our education system, where people
cannot even understand that LET works?
That is more to-the-point: a lot of people have such a poor and
twisted understanding, that they are unable to grasp it. But I don't
know if that is due to the education system or to the fact that most
people are not really smart - few people excell like Poincare in
understanding of mathematics AND physics AND philosophy.
How could it possibly be that we educate people,
but they become unable to know that LET physically
works? How can any thinking person be raised in such
a way, to receive a real education, and not be able
to say that LET works? How is that possible? It is
not possible, unless some kind of a mind control is
at work. You people who are involved with the
education system are actually evil. You are no
longer honest thinking people. You are no longer
intelligent people. And those who you educate are
not educated, they have been totally compromised.
Bias happens everywhere; usually it's not due to "evil" but due to
group mechanisms. Studies on monkeys and religious sects are very
revealing!
SNIP some overheated expressions
I call upon all fair minded people,
if there are any left on this net, to begin to speak
up, and let us see some light for a change. My good
name has been rubbed in the dirt one time too many,
and I demand some support. I do not want any support
where I might be wrong, but I do have the right to
expect support where I am correct! Please give me
that support.
Thank you!
You're welcome. :-)
However, what I don't understand is: why do you care so strongly if
people really understand it or not? Is there not a better way to spend
your time? Whoever really wants to understand SRT can find it the
answers. And there is so much else in the universe that is still not
well understood!
Cheers,
Harald

Now please, I hope I never said anywhere above
that LET is perfect. It is not. I know that in
science, there seems to always be questions here and
questions there as to whether or not any theory works
for everything. But to be scientifically honest, if
there is a known problem for LET, most of the time,
the same problem, in one form or another, also is a
problem for SR. So let us be careful, and honest,
and see any problem for what it might be, merely a
lack of full understanding of everything, not just
one thing.
