What would be Earth's new Orbit if an Asteroid slowed it's speed down by half?

Let's say:

1. Earth's Orbit was perfectly circular.
2. and the Asteroid's collision was perfectly parallel to Earth's
angular velocity (but in opposite direction).
3. the Asteroid was twice the mass of Earth (thus Earth's new velocity
= 1/2 of the original)

1st the Earth would incline slightly and accelerate towards the Sun

2nd the Earth would ***GAIN*** velocity from the acceleration

What would be Earth's new maximum speed and what would be it new "r"
distance from the sun (or if it would be elliptical distances instead
then what would be the Earth's new average "r" distance from the sun)?

Would it's new orbital continue to intersect to where it had the
impact (using Kepler math)?
