Higgs and GR

The main purpose of the LHC at CERN is to search
for the Higgs boson. Supposedly, this particle is the
source of mass.
I was wondering, what is the relationship between
it and gravity, in GR? Mass curves spacetime,
etc.... where does the Higgs field and boson fit in?
What if Peter Higgs had died in infancy?
