Well, then forget the language. The sun emits photons all the time,
without any intent of delivering them anywhere in particular. A bar
magnet emits photons all the time, as evidenced by the fact that if we
put a piece of steel in a region some distance away from the bar
magnet, it already feels the influence of the photons that the magnet
emitted some time ago -- there is no need to wait.
Dear PD :)) you think so, but I can demonstrate that the only
acceptable case is that A emits only if it knows that somewhere
(arount itself) there is B ready to accept....
Do you know that photons (or light... or whatever you use to describe
this entity "Luminifera") are those that minimize their own path from
source to destination?
Well, how can they minimize a path if they don't know where it ends?
The stars I looked at last night had no way to know that the photo
receptors of my retina would be in the proper position to receive that
energy at the time the energy was emitted.
The energy would have fallen somewhere close to where I was standing, if I
had decided to stay in the house. The star didn't care if I was there or
not.
