The conclusion of the paper is {The mass of a body is a measure of its
energy-content}. It is derived there from the Principle of Energy
Conservation (PoE) and the Principle of 1905 Relativity (PoR). Read
the paper (it is only 3 short pages!).
In 1905 the PoE is stated as Total Energy TE=Kinetic Energy KE
+Potential Energy PE
Even if the words "potential energy" are not in the paper, the concept
of potential energy is in it, as the very explicit use of the
{arbitrary additive constants} put in evidence (in all Physics
history, potential is the unique energy with an arbitrary additive
constant).
In 1905, a body can has energy owed to it velocity (kinetic), or owed
to its position (potential). If a body is at rest, its rest mass must
measure its Potential Energy. If a body is moving, it has an added
dynamic mass corresponding to its kinetic energy. Then, the body total
mass m=m_0+m_d. If Total Energy is conserved by the PoE, total mass is
also conserved remaining constant. But remaining m constant F=(d/dt)
(mv)=m(dv/dt)=ma
Sure you know that F=d/dt(mv) is the original Newton's 1684
expression, and it is considered not valid in today Special Relativity
because Relativistic Mechanics was developed after 1905 only for a
constant potential condition (m_0 constant). Physics forgot the

As an added entertaining topic, the Potential Energy measured by rest
mass m_0 is an ABSOLUTE one and taking into account all types of
potential energies that can be present (the reason is that mass has
not arbitrary additive constant, the absolute zero point is where
