why not video record all experiments?

I've never heard this suggestion, but it just occured to me that it
would be nice if I could actually watch a movie of an experiment and
how it was conducted.
Why not, video cameras are cheap now.
anyone can operate one, certainly a scientist I hope.
transfer the video from camera to computer
upload the movie to youtube or google videos
and type up some references so people know who ran the experiment and
what periodicals if any the experiment is published in, as a 'study' I
suppose.
This would be even easier with a digital camera that saved movies in
something like mpeg4 format.
All the important objects and steps could be recorded. I doubt there
would be much benefit in recording mice running around a cage for 18
months, but surely the steps, results and explanation could be
recorded.
This video could be used for verification of the experiment, detecting
possible flaws in method, explanation of the experiment, educational,
historical value.
Videoing experiments is so inexpensive and easy now, why not record
them all this way. The periodcal article or abstract could contain a
link to the video on youtube, google or some other site.
This idea sounds so obvious and easy that I can't figure out why it
isn't done for most experiments
