This is total nonsense. The Lorentz transform exhibits the symmetry.
You choose to ignore it. You do not understand the Lorentz
transform. You do not understand SR which is merely an interpretation
to the mathematics of the Lorentz transform. As an evil henchman to
the faith of SR, you are beyond help. <shrug>

This thought experiment nullifies Einstein's claim of acceleration
breaking the Lorentz symmetry because each twin undergoes the same
amount and duration of acceleration. However, there still remains a
time period where each twin is moving with respect to the other. In
this case, as you have said, the time dilation effect must be
accumulative. It is very clear that this accumulated time dilation
applies equally to each twin. Thus, this is still a paradox.

You are right, and they have to resort to houdini-like
contortions to avoid it.

Yes, they resort to matheMagic tricks to fudge the results. SR is not
the only case they have done so.

The accumulated time dilations of
A in B's view, and B in A's view, are created when A and
B are inertial frames. Yet, all this is magically invalidated
because A and B accelerate and decelerate, but it is not
invalidated in a third frame C, into which they decelerate.
But if A, alone, decelerates into B's frame, we will, no
doubt, have some other tricky validation of A's time dilation
in the view of B, in spite of B's original acceleration
invalidating his inertial status, etc. etc.

Yes, only when you are not sucked into the faith of SR, you can think
qualitatively, quantitatively, and logically.

Notice how Professor Roberts has avoided facing the nemesis of SR that
is when both twins travel with the same acceleration profile. The
acceleration-breaking-the symmetry nonsense was brought up by Einstein
without any mathematical bases. Today, there still remain no
mathematical proofs that acceleration would break the symmetry and
thus violates the principle of relativity. A thorough proof needs to
show how each twin ages and not just on one.

Another favorite matheMagic conjecture is to declare the Lorentz
transform invalid whenever there is any acceleration involved. Thus,
this allows the henchmen of the SR faith to fudge any answer they feel
like. 100 years ago, they have already found their messiah ---
Einstein. Einstein was a nitwit, a plagiarist, and a liar. He
actually had nothing to do with SR except promoting the faith. It was
Einstein's wrong answer that they are rigorously protecting now.

What is the special theory of relativity (SR)?

It is a faith.

The founding fathers were Larmor, Poincare, and Lorentz.

The messiah, or the promoter, was Einstein.

The henchmen to spread and to protect the nonsense of SR are all
around us.

You cannot discuss qualitatively, quantitatively, and logically with
the henchmen who deeply believe in this faith.
