You really are arrogant.
No, the word you are searching for is "knowledgeable". The "arrogance" is YOURS, in thinking you can understand physics, or its history, without studying the underlying concepts. What I said above is an ESSENTIAL aspect of standard, undergraduate courses in quantum mechanics.
How do you KNOW. The words 'are NEITHER' are not appropriate.
"How do [I] know?" -- by having STUDIED THE SUBJECT. Those words are fully justified -- we have good theories of quantum objects. Science is NOT done in the subjunctive as you seem to think. We know what we know, and EVERYBODY knows that this knowledge is subject to revision.
I would suggest
"... our understanding at the moment suggests that quantum objects are neither particles nor waves. Nor does the description "both" appear to be appropriate. It may be that common experience and vocabulary prove inadequate to capture their essence."
Science does not progress in the subjunctive, as you "suggest".
This is not a high school debating society, nor is it a "feel good" seminar to boost people's self esteem. This is supposed to be science -- some of us know what that means....
