An overly weird curved spacetime

Last night I had a bad dream. I was seeing myself
measuring a distance, by means of a ruler, from point
A to point B. When I measured from A to B, the length
was the constant L_A, but when I measured from
B to A, it always yielded the constant L_B < L_A.
A grey-haired old man came close to me and told me
the reason was we were living in an overly weird curved
spacetime. Then, I woke up, and noticed it was just a
bad dream :-)
