is it possible to think about spacetime as komplex valued?

This depends on what one is trying to do. There is an relationship between Minkowski spacetime with metric and quaternions that makes some simple things look rather neat when expressed as quaternions. But the relationship is not a full isomorphism and geometrical things like the connection and curvature do not have any natural quaternion counterpart.

Simple complex numbers are inadequate for (1+3)-dimension relativity, but could be used for (1+1)-dimension relativity:

Usual SR Complex plane
-------- -------------
x Re(z)
t Im(z)
||(x,t)|| z z*

Again, I don't think there is a full isomorphism here....
