Will it ever be possible to view an atom?

Will it ever be possible to view an atom? Electron microscopes can
resolve some pretty small particles, does anyone think we'll ever be
able to resolve an image of an atom, and what on earth could it look
like? I watched a TV program where the guy said that if the nucleus
was the size of a marble, then the electrons would be the the size of
the diameter of a hair and would be "revolving" around the nucleus,
the equivalent of two miles away in scale. This is all fascinating
stuff. It's a great time to be alive and find out about our world and
universe.
