Can you explain the emission mechanism for pulsars?

If only it was understood why a rapidly rotating object with a
magnetic dipole moment would emit radiation. If only I had taken a
course or two in electromagnetic theory....oh wait, I have.

Until you know what exactly that emission mechanism is,
you should shut the *** up, Eric.

Kid you have no idea what you are talking about.

Yeah, magnetic dipole moment, I see. It is not that easy!
How pulsars emit their radiation is a great mystery. Of
course, there are a lot of proposals/models of emission,
but all of them fail.
I would bet longitudinal EM waves have a lot to do with
that issue.

EM waves are transverse, idiot.

No, I mean longitudinal EM waves. Those
waves that travel at superluminal speeds in
plasma medium. Those longitudinal EM waves
that scare relativists a lot,  because they are the
devil for relativity.

Do you mean the same waves that cannot exist in vacuum?
