Why can't longitudinal EM waves exist in vacuum?
Because Maxwell's equations do not predict them
for vacuum? If it is so, then Maxwell's equations are
incomplete, they should be generalized. Longitudinal
EM waves in vacuum generate what is known as
gravity!!!!!

You are close. What Maxwell's equations can't
predict is a third axis of freedom.

Agreed. For a quicky, let me use ExB=C
in a g-field where "C" is the velocity
of light in g-field, "c" is a constant
velocity of light in the absence of any
field effects, then c = C + delta C.

I'd consider the "delta C" to be associated
with a longitudinal EM wave as conjecture,
to be considered.

Hey Sue, did you enjoy that quicky?
